A Soup-er Weight Loss Strategy

Let’s get real. Fads come and go like weeds in the spring. They pop up out of nowhere, make a fuss, and then peter out. What is in fashion today will very unlikely be in fashion in 100 years or even next year.

One thing that doesn’t seem to go out of fashion is peoples’ desire to “lose weight.” I wish to clarify this term "weight loss.”

Truly most people are searching for “the bod.” You know the deal: ripped lean muscle coupled with low body fat. In your endeavor to earn yourself “the bod” more than likely you are actually desiring body fat loss.

I wish to write this to inspire you to take the simple approach. In today’s complex world, the simple path is the path less travelled. The herd will always trample towards the “new” and “shiny.”

Quirky diets, “breakthrough” pharmaceuticals, “hot new” supplements are all promising the holy grail of “weight loss.” Naturally these ideas sell better the more complex they seem.

It is wise when the siren sings these promises to you to never discount the major downside risk of potentially introducing side effects to your system. Stop stressing! There is a better way. The simple way.

If you are reading this blog you are intelligent, have a background in exercise, and are seeking to learn something to improve your fitness. You have also been bombarded by the “ways of the world” saying you need to be a size smaller and you’ll never get there unless you surrender to the marketing campaign and buy the thing.

This bombardment of “you're not good enough” is why many people feel that they need something extra to “help” them. The masses feverishly seek their own special weight loss “helpers” (crash diets, drugs, supplements, etc).

Let’s not complicate things. We all know that the “secret” to weight loss is a simple formula: Move more and eat a little less or some combination of both.

Like a pressure cooker, people feel they must lose weight or else.

I ask you to come out of the confusion. Stop listening to the noise and turn off the noise maker.

Never forget that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God Almighty. You are designed by the Creator of the universe and are well equipped without the “helpers.”

I want to inspire you to give yourself some grace and use the most powerful weapon in weight loss and that is patience combined with a positive attitude. Thank God everyday that you can breath, move, smile, help others, and live your life.

Quit listening to the worldly sirens that relentlessly peep “you are not enough” (it’s all bull****).

Be grateful for the opportunity to move your body and eat clean foods. There are many people who wish to be in your situation.

By this simple change of mindset of “not good enough” to “blessed and well equipped” is an absolute game changer.

Let’s review the simple weight loss formula:

MOVE MORE + EAT A LITTLE LESS + CLEAN FOODS + POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Most importantly, all blessings come from God. Do you think it’s a coincidence that in the Bible it talks about the “milk” and the “meat” of the faith?

You must consume some soul food, if you will, and feed your spiritual self. You do this by praising God, praying, and studying His Letter to you, the Bible. These simple acts will feed your spiritual self and will give you true fullness.

Adding spiritual food will calm your mind, give you peace of mind, and you will have a fullness I cannot explain. You are a child of the Almighty God. Ask your Heavenly Father to help you in all your ways. He wants to hear from you.

Ponder these ideas presented. Finally, I’d like to leave you with the bonus Soup-er Weight Loss Strategy.

This simple, common sense strategy can help you if you desire to eat a little less. It is best combined with an effort to make a commitment to move more. Use discipline and play the long game.

Search the web and you will see there are multiple sources that are supporting this plug-and-play strategy.

Here it is…

Before every meal eat a bowl of low calorie vegetable soup.

This simple strategy helps boost your satiety, hydration levels, and reduces the amount of Calories consumed throughout the day. Put simply, it will help you eat a little less without feeling starved.

When Nancy and I first learned of this concept we took it for a test drive. Vroom Vroom.

For speed and convenience, we went to the grocery store and bought the major soup brand that comes in a red can. Vegetable soup. Check.

We both ate a bowl of vegetable soup before our dinner that night and marveled at how “full” we both felt!

Needless to say we were quite impressed and it only took mere minutes to pop the can and heat it up before dinner. This weight loss strategy is easy to repeat.

Run it by your doctor, before trying any nutrition strategy and make sure it properly fits your situation.

If you decide it’s worth a try, I’d like to motivate you to give it a whirl and feel the difference.

You can also make your own homemade vegetable soup if you desire. Just make sure that it is low calorie.

More fullness (satiety) and less Calories consumed overall will compound over time. Commit to doing this strategy for a period of time.

If you are extremely pressed for time, you could consider drinking a vegetable drink before each meal as a high-speed, yet capable substitute.

Soup has been the solution for generations for a hot meal. Soup has fed us through wars, depressions, and celebrations. In all likelihood, it will be around for as long as we are. As we've learned today, soup can be a loyal companion on your quest to eat a little less.

Marinate on these ideas presented and I hope that you will consider including them into your daily life.

My hope is that you see much value unlocked by these ideas presented and reap the whirlwind of happiness and satisfaction. All in all, I hope this spilled ink helps you in some way and adds value to your life.

I’d like to leave you with a Proverb to digest and ponder.

“5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

Thank you for your time!

Beau
